With honor & gratitude
Thanks to those who courageously gave their lives in service and those who bravely continue to fight so that we may enjoy our freedom.

Recent best buys and a (short) wish list
Leopard Espadrilles
My love for espadrilles dates waaaay back past when I wrote this post, but it's still just as strong. Imagine my delight when I found the perfect combo-- Leopard espadrilles. I couldn't pass them up when I saw them on the Soludos site.
I'll rock the all white outfit like below post-Memorial Day, post-tan...And I'll take a Coke Zero too. (Read about my health journey and Coke Zero recovery here.) Confession: I still enjoy it. Immensely. But I limit it to once a week on Soda Saturday.

Thug Life T-Shirts
My casual summer uniform is a polo shirt and shorts, but I thought I'd mix things up a little this year with a couple of fun t-shirts. This line of t-shirts kept me laughing as I clicked through the funny sayings. I finally ended up selecting these two-- How could the Sailor possibly get upset with me for shopping if I'm wearing a cute wifey t-shirt??? Plus the shirts are made by a US company with a social conscience, so I felt even better about my purchase.
Still on the wishlist...
Anthropologie Carissima Sheath. SOLD OUT! In every size and color. That's all.
Oh, and while on the Anthro site, I happened to look for my bench. THE bench written about here, here and here. Also no longer available. Heartbreaking. (I think the Sailor will silently cheer when he reads that bit of news.)

About that time I...
...Ran a half marathon without training...
As I've mentioned in previous posts, I'd cut back on running significantly until last month when I surprised myself by logging more miles in a long time. Wellllll...a distance runner that does not make me. But last Monday when I found out about a half-marathon being held on Saturday in our area, I thought to myself --Oh, why not?! I used Monday afternoon as a test and told myself if I could just run 9 miles in preparation, I could do the 13.1 on Saturday.
I got through Monday's run in 85 degree heat, admittedly walking a killer hill. It was hot. And slow. But I did it. So I decided I was all in for this past weekend.

Essential Oils and Aromatherapy
A few weeks ago, I ran out of linen spray, and while that might not be a big deal to many people, I'm a fragrance freak. So, with some essential oils already in my cabinet, I decided to make my own heavenly spray.

Namaste: Practice Makes Imperfect
I'm celebrating an accomplishment -- Without realizing it, I ran more miles during the month of April than I have run since training last year. Although I had intentionally cut back (or so I thought) on running, I was thrilled to learn that it hadn't affected my level of fitness and that I still have the stamina for distances.
