Well, I decided to take action and do something about the things I have some control over...like wrinkles. I made the adult decision to actually start using SPF when I turned thirty. Most of the time. But thirty was a little late, and the smile lines around my mouth and crow's feet around my eyes have become more and more visible each day.

Wrinkles and Wisdom
I have a big birthday coming up in a few weeks. Not really looking forward to it. Okay, truth be told, I've been dreading it for the past month six months for a variety of reasons.

Summer Calling
Seems like it's been raining forever here in the northeast. We had a break for some sun on Monday, and it was glorious! Good news is that we're less than a month from the official start of summer...I.Am.Ready!
WHAT TO WEAR
WHERE TO KICK BACK
Thanks to the Relished Roost for introducing me to
"Clean, crisp, dramatic, traditional" "Refined simplicity with dashes of color and modernism"
WHAT TO EAT
....This recipe couldn't be more simple! I had a version of this salad this past weekend with a grilled, carmelized onion and parmesan crisps on top. YUM!
1/2 cup of olive oil
1 lemon, juice & zest
1 tablespoon of rosemary, minced
1 teaspoon of garlic, minced
sea salt
cracked pepper
....
2 small-ish heads of romaine
1 lemon, quartered
1/2 cup of parmesan cheese, fresh grated
cherry tomatoes
Start grill or prepare coals. While the grill is heating up...
Wash and dry the romaine lettuce. Cut in half length-wise. Mix together the oil, lemon zest and juice, rosemary, garlic, salt and pepper. Brush mixture on the cut side of the lettuce.

Meant to be mine!
Introducing my favorite new sundress for the summer! I finally got a Jules Reid dress, and it's a maxi...I definitely will have to rock some super high heels to ensure that I look tall and thin (wishful thinking) rather than short and stout (more of a reality)... I took a gamble and ordered it online even though it was final sale, but it fits perfectly. Can't wait for some warm, sunny weather now!

Currently Coveting: Peasant Blouse
Anthro hit it again with their jewel colored hippie-dippie breezy tops just in time for summer.
I need a replacement for my favorite go-to blouse that I finally (and reluctantly) donated to Goodwill... much to the Sailor's delight. It was a gift from my college girlfriends about a decade ago, and it admittedly had seen better days.
Here are the top three contenders for the spring/summer staple to fill the now empty spot in my closet:

Library Love
All I have to say is WOW! This photo is giving me inspiration to GET GOING on redecorating the one room that we haven't touched since we moved in to our house. We've talked about making it a library, but we haven't gotten very far beyond discussing ideas. The previous owner used our extra room/second living room for a game room...pool table, dart board, fish border, painted it maroon-- very masculine. I think that we should go with something a little more just like this....
Well, you can probably tell from my recent posts that we have a lot of work to do around the house this summer. Time to get motivated!
Happy Friday, Friends! Make this weekend a great one!

The inspiration board for the room shows more orange and green with the bright pink than Edie Wadsworth of A Life in Grace incorporated in the real room. The pops of yellow are the focal points, but I really love the pink with orange and green like on the inspiration board.
