Sweet P at ...25 Months

Oops-- little late on this update. Actually, I'd originally posted all of Sweet P's updates to the Shutterfly share sites, and I did get it up there on time. But does anyone else find that site really difficult to use??? It was great when it came time to printing photo books or photo gifts- All of the pics were in one place and organized chronologically. So many people that I invited to view the photos couldn't log in though. If any readers have suggestions for alternative photo sharing sites that also make it easy to create books and other photo gifts, please share in the comments!

As the saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun! I can’t believe that Pippa is TWO! She continues to fill our hearts with unimaginable joy and love even as she enters the so-called "Terrible Twos.” Pip’s big personality grows with every day— and we are blessed to have a silly, spunky, sweet girl.

Pippa is constantly in motion or "very active" as her teachers at KidzLodge say. Her favorite activities are spinning, dancing, coloring and painting, splashing in her water table, playing in the sand on the beach at the club, and climbing way too high on her new Pippa Palace swing set. She absolutely loves to be outside in nature, which delights Mom and Dad.

At school, Pip is learning numbers, colors, letters and concepts through weekly themes and sensory experiences. This summer brought fun lessons and art projects focusing on camping, outer space, fruits and vegetables, bugs, and the ocean. Her vocabulary is bursting with new words now that she uses her binky (“BB”) less often.

In addition to spending lots of time boating on the lake with Meme and Pep this summer, we enjoyed weekend outings to see the baby animals at a local farm, visit the farmer’s market, make new friends at the library and check out the county fair.

P was a great traveler when we went on our family vacation to Cape Cod in June and on our recent trip to Washington, DC to visit Auntie K and Baby Andrew. She loved visiting the National Zoo and seeing the turtles. In fact, Pip loves all animals! On a daily basis, she tries petting and kissing the cat and excitedly exclaims “woof" and “hop hop” when she sees dogs and bunnies.

Shortly before her second birthday, Pip fell into a bookcase at the Lodge and knocked out a front tooth. The accident of course required her first visit to the dentist, where she was a trooper. The accident left her with a gap-toothed grin, but she still has a smile that lights up a room!

Pip is now in the 60th percentile for weight and 70th percentile for height. Her favorite goods are still pickles, avocados, pasta, and mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Memories to treasure: nightly dance parties, spinning until we’re dizzy, eating ice cream from the carton, family hugs/Pippa Sandwiches
