Design Darling: Nam Dang Mitchell

Since Sweet P came into our lives, design projects have been on hold around here. Heck, we can't even find the time to get out and shop for new patio furniture let alone do any renovations or redesigning of rooms! But when I stumbled upon the work of Calgary-based Nam Dang Mitchell however I suddenly had the urge to clear out everything in our home and start fresh. Nam's polished rustic aesthetic and attention to architectural detail make some inspiring spaces.

How chic is she?! I wish I could pull off such a glamorous outfit. Note to self for the fall: Camel and black are a winning color combo.

Nam's choice of color- or lack thereof is reflected in the spaces she designs. The subdued neutral palette is usually not my preference, but it works with all of the layering in these rooms. Neutral doesn't have to mean boring!

Love the millwork and arches on the cabinets combined with the linear plank floor and coffered ceiling. Traditional with a modern twist.

Wow. I never in a million years thought I'd swoon over a fridge. Over a fridge, people! But look at this beauty with built in paneling.

Don't miss the nailhead edging on the pullout drawers below the fridge and the herringbone wood floor with the marble subway tiles. Incredible.

Another kitchen to love. The island is such a great prep space, and I'm always a fan of gray and white with a dark floor.

The textures, the wallpaper- Everything about this makes me want to jump right in and hang out in this space!
