Have you heard of a Little Free Library? I love this idea! The Little Free Library movement was started by a guy in Wisconsin, who put a box with books on a post in his yard with a sign "Free Books." The idea caught on, and in the three years that's passed, there have been more than 10,000 Little Free Libraries created around the world.
The goal of Little Free Library is to promote literacy and the love of reading and to build a sense of community. "Take a book. Return a book."
Despite our many home improvement projects, I don't think that the Sailor is going to be crossing building a Little Free Library off his "honey-do" list. And the Free Little Library's custom built boxes start at $250. So, I might have to take on the project myself with a some DIY instructions and inspiration from Pinterest.
