Arbonne Extravaganza
Several recent stories about high levels of toxins and other harmful chemicals, like arsenic in apple juice and PBAs in water bottles, have encouraged me to really consider the products I'm putting in and on my body. It's not like I never thought about it before, but as I begin to show signs of aging...I want to take every measure possible to remain as young and healthy looking as possible. (Mmm, probably should have thought about that when I was spending a good-portion of my twenties in tanning beds and boycotting sunscreen.)

Ten Tablescapes
In an ideal world, I would have planned a not-to-be-missed, end-of-summer, frou-frou, girls-only champagne brunch this weekend, in follow-up to hubby's pig party last weekend. However, two things stopped me: (1) No space to host; and (2) Brunch=Food=Cooking=Disaster.
Leaving those facts aside, if I had planned to host a brunch, the menu might include:

Missoni Madness
Target launched its affordable Missoni line yesterday, and the Target website promptly went down due to the number of people trying to log on. Target said that demand for the items was greater than on Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year.
The Missoni brand launched in Italy by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni in 1953, and it has grown to include housewares, fragrances, and hotels-- The company plans to have thirty hotels open or in development by 2012. Some of their current locations include Brazil, Turkey, Oman and Scotland.
Target's Missoni line ranges in price from about $30.00 - $50.00, whereas real Missoni clothing can cost in the hundreds or thousands of dollars. Needless to say, many of the items have already been scooped up and are out of stock. Word is that some items are already being posted for sale on ebay.
While Target's limited edition line offers four-hundred pieces in the classic Missoni zigzags, stripes, and abstract floral prints, here are a few of my favorites:

H & M also plans to partner with high-end designers later this year when it offers collections from Jimmy Choo and Versace.

4th Annual Pig Roast
The Sailor's 4th Annual Pig Roast went off without a hitch again this year. Every year, the party grows bigger and so does the pig -- 120 pounds of hog on the pit on Saturday.
We have lots of leftovers... More specifically, three giant vats of coleslaw, 4 dozen rolls, and ten pounds of pork. So, I think I'll be making some of the Crock Pot BBQ Pulled Pork that Puttin' on the Grits wrote about earlier this month. Doesn't this make your mouth water?

Talk about BRILLIANT- I never would have thought to put pickles on there. Yummmmmmmy!

Free Cards from Minted.com
A company called Minted.com recently caught my attention and I just have to share-- especially because they have a free offer! I first read a post on Monograms and Manicures, who wrote, " I think just about every blogger has written about the Minted.com Mommy Calling Card offer by now." Well, not me, not yet, at least!

“I wear my sort of clothes to save me the trouble of deciding which clothes to wear.”
~ Katharine Hepburn
I am in love with this outfit! The cowboy boots and denim shirt with the ball gown certainly aren't the obvious pairing, but it works. Although my fashion sensibility is classic, along the lines of Katharine Hepburn's, this photo is a reminder to be more adventurous with my wardrobe.
