Insane Fitness

I'll bet that it's a surprise I'm not blogging about the Royal Wedding today, like every other blogger out there. Never fear, I watched it and I won't be able to resist commentary for too long. I'm just waiting for all of the good pictures to become available before I give my two cents. In short, though -- What a spectacular fairytale!

Moving on...I'm not usually one to fall for "As Seen on TV" junk products (well, except the Kangaroo Keeper handbag organizer and Style Snaps). But I saw the infomercial for Shaun T's Insanity Total Body Conditioning, and I am obsessed with it. Here's the rotation of DVDs:
1: Dig Deeper & Fit Test
 2: Plyometric Cardio Circuit
 3: Cardio Power & Resistance
4: Cardio Recovery & Max Recovery
 5: Pure Cardio & Abs
 6: Cardio Abs
 7: Core Cardio & Balance
 8: Max Interval Circuit
 9: Max Interval Plyo
10: Max Cardio Conditioning & Abs

Looks pretty intense, and that's what all of the reviews say too. It's not one of those workouts that claims ten minutes a day will get you results. All of the DVDs are between 30-80 minutes long, expcept Cardio Abs, which is only 20 minutes -- of pure hell,  I'm sure.

How does it compare to P90x? Rather than building muscle to burn fat, through weight training, Insanity uses your own body resistance to increase cardio fitness.

"Insanity’s high-intensity activity is likely to have you working out at over 85% of your maximum, instead of the lower rate recommended in other programs. As a result, you’ll experience faster increases in fitness and more efficient burning of carbohydrates and fat—as much as 1,000 calories per hour," claims Suzanne Trotter, an independent fitness trainer.

Sounds like just the thing for me to try after overindulging on Easter candy all week!

What's in my basket, Honey Bunny?

Just a few hints for the bunny...He can skip filling my basket with chocolate (would you ever think you'd hear me say that?!) and jelly beans as long as he brings me one of these frocks from Sheridan French.

I'm making the case by suggesting that I already have the chunky turquoise jewelry to accessorize. Now I just need the right dress...

Neve dress in Bali Blue

Georgina dress in Hot Lips

Georgina dress in Electric Orange

And since he can shop online, the bunny can thank me for saving him a trip to the store. At this point, they're probably all sold out of the good candy anyway. No Peeps for me, please.

On a Roll...

The trend is a few years old now, but the "transition" season is a great time to try rolled cuff jeans. It's too cold for shorts but too warm to wear jeans. The key is to find jeans that aren't too slouchy and to show off a hot pair of shoes!

19th Hole

This weekend, all of the talk is about The Masters. That's exciting for me because I actually can participate in the conversation. It's not that I know anything about golf, but  it's certainly easier to follow than football, and less painful to watch than baseball, where they do the same thing over and over and over again. Oh, and it's generally played in places that have spectacular scenery.

I even have a favorite golfer- Phil Mickelson. The Sailor (a Tiger fan), says Phil is "boring." I like him because he seems like a genuinely nice guy and a good husband. I was particularly impressed with him when he suspended his travel on the 2009 PGA tour until his, Amy, was well enough to travel with him after being diagnosed with breast cancer. And if that makes him boring...so be it.

Last summer, I made it my goal to learn how to play golf. I came a wee-bit-short of accomplishing it, but I was assured that there are many people who spend their entire lives learning how to play. I'm going to take it up again this summer, commit to lessons  at Top of the World Golf Resort and hopefully be able to beat the Sailor by the end of the summer! With views like this at the course, I imagine it might be difficult to focus on my golf game-- in which case,  I'll be doing a lot of basking in the sun and daydreaming.

Regardless of how my game progresses, I am going to look the part. I'll be sure to plan my outfits out in advance since there are so many options for women golfers now!

Lucky me! Check, check and check. Mine does all of the above and more, and I am so grateful for it.

Despite searching online for hours, it's probably a good thing I can't find it to buy...

April (Snow) Showers Bring May Flowers?

"It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want - oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!" - Mark Twain
