Honk for Ham

We’ve started a new tradition up here in the Adirondacks. With the arrival of Fall comes the Annual Pig Roast, theeeee social event of the season.
This year, we celebrated the 3rd Annual Roast with sixty of our closest friends and family.

The Captain was in charge of cooking ninety-pound Wilbur, who marinated in a rub (Joy of Cooking) and the secret sauce (a variation on Dinosaur BBQ’s Mutha Sauce- I can’t give away the secret  but here’s a hint: use red peppers instead of green and minimal spicy brown mustard).

S'mores cupcakes looked divine! Maybe they'll make it to the party next year...

Skeet shooting and other lawn games.

Live music provided by Rich Ortiz.

So proud of The Sailor, who did almost all of the planning and prep! (My frou-frou, Martha Stewart suggestions were all rebuked). Already looking forward to the 4th Annual Pig Roast, the weekend after Labor Day 2011!
