I'm going to go all "hippie" today and blog about an enviro charity and an event that I really want to attend.

(Wo)Man and Machine
You generally find lots of pink and pretties on this blog. I blog about fashion, lifestyle, decor, recipes-- the usual. The same topics that other thirty-somethings cover. Except that when I read others' blogs, I find that they do it better.
The bloggers I follow either currently have or had cool jobs working as social media directors, interior designers, online fashion editors or freelance fill-in-the-blank. They have endless resources of time and money to shop, travel, try different products, do crafts, find awesome pics on pinterest. It all leaves me, well... feeling a little inadequate sometimes.
Heidi from the Rustic Modernist recently wrote about this social media syndrome too. Knowing that other people do the compare stuff too made me feel somewhat better and reassured me that it's not just my lack of self esteem making me feel this way.
Three things I am loving now...
In the midst of moving, it's been tough trying to put together a real meal. Last night, I worked late while the Sailor headed to the new homestead to do some painting and other chores. So I was on my own for dinner.

Easy, breezy Tuesday
Want to wear this today...
Or this...
And be hanging out here...
(The Sailor might recognize it as The Four Seasons, Nevis. Still not giving up.)
But this is the unfortunate reality...
Sigh.

Fashion 911
I adore Jennifer Aniston. But I just can't fathom what's been going through her mind since she's been dating Justin Theroux. Her wardrobe has gone from fabulous to frumpy (at best). Some call it "edgy"...I just don't think so.
And WHAT is with the jeans she wore earlier this week in Paris, of all places? I'm all for comfort when traveling, but this ensemble is horrendous. Did Jen pack in haste and have to borrow Justin's jeans? It's not hammer-time.
Those drop-crotch jeans are a fashion "don't." Look at these "before" shots of Jen in jeans-- She rocks the classic bootcut with her perfectly proportioned figure.

Maybe it's time to call in the stylists who select her red carpet gowns to help with the everyday casual looks. They always get it right!

Splurge or Steal: Stand or Sit
The bad news is that, despite my best efforts, I sometimes have literally nothing to do at work. I've created all of the projects I possibly can do, and the fact of the matter is, the business I'm in is cyclical. There are times where I am indeed super-busy, but there's also plenty of time when it's just not-very-busy.
The good news, on the other hand, is that I've always wanted a job where I got paid to do what I love. And, well, that's the case now. Although it's not in my real job description, I have ample time and flexibility to shop online. And the ability to shop for deals has saved quite a bit of money in the decorating department!

Sew Easy
I've been doing a lot of thinking about decorating lately. I REALLY ought to start making mood boards, but instead, I've been clicking from site to site trying to store away all of the great home ideas in my mind. The latest project is sewing simple curtains for the kitchen and downstairs bathroom.
